Free & Easy Ride - TanYong Po, Satun

16th March 2016
Due to client shutdown, me and another 4 friends decided to have one day "free N easy" ride.
Previously we were planning to overnight at Betong for the famous sea of cloud sightseeing, but due to each other schedule, that plan was canceled, and replace with this one day ride.

RV at Hutan Kampung tols, as usual, I'm the first one to arrive

After around 8:30am, all arrived and we started our journey.
First stop, Changlun, to purchase Insurance, and some paperworks.
From there, we use the connecting highway towards Perlis, exit at Chuping.

Due to hot season recently, the scenery is not good at all, with fire spotted every now and then.
For the second time, I'm arrived at Wang Kelian Border, but is the first time to enter Thailand using this border.
With only 1 booth available, the waiting time is killing me...

After done with the immigration, headed to the custom office to declare my bike.
Am surprise that the officer told me, they can't issue me the documents, due to the fact that in their system, I'm not returning the documents last trip (30-Jan-16, Hatyai bikeweek). After checking my records of In-Out Thailand border, he told me just go in without declaration, and since I'm gonna exit at Sadao border later on, to check there.

After everyone done with their documents, we headed to Tanyong Po for lunch.
As first timer to arrive at Satun, I would say is not happening as Danok, nothing interesting for me to stay overnight.

Unfortunately, the road towards that restaurant undergo upgrading, and the condition is not very good.
Hot weather, pebbles road, and dusty, not easy for me to ride. Nevertheless, once we approaching the restaurant, the roadside view is very nice, riding along the coast line, with endless seaview, all those previous "off-road" riding paid.

Lunch served at the wooden hut, and with this breathtaking endless seaview, the charges are not expensive.
Lunch for 5 only cost us THB1,200, not to mentioned free Kopi "O", black coffee from the owner, as my friends are regular customer.

After the lunch, and rest for some time, we continue our journey towards Hatyai, as they want to find some spare parts/accessories for their scooter. Few major outlet/shop in Hatyai should be ok for them, SIRI & XSpeed.

Bla bla bla, we finished at Hatyai around 7pm, and headed to Sadao border to "kap ban" aka go back Msia.
For them, a trip to Thailand will not complete without ice espresso from Amazon coffee, almost available at all PTT petrol station.

Journey continue after another break at Amazon coffee, and we reached Sadao around 8:30pm, dinner time... Had our dinner at Kak Jah, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kak-Jah-Restoran-Danok/235300186500264, and headed to the immigration.

As mentioned before, during the custom declaration at Wang Kelian, their system mentioned that I had not return back the documents last trip, and need me to clarify/check at Sadao custom office. I'm very sure that I did return it, but my only worry is how to communicate well with the officers, most of them only speak Thais, and for me, I don't speak thais. Long story to elaborate, in briefly, after almost 1 hour waiting, the officer finally found the documents in their storage, but they forgot to key into their system.

Luckily this issue detected earlier, as if only detect during my next trip to Phuket bikeweek, not sure how much time will be taken then.

Finally, arrived back in Malaysia, and stop at Jitra tols for others to perform their prayers.

Upgraded

9th June 2015
After around 4 months of "L", at last....
Another milestone achieve...

1st Cross Country Ride

2nd May 2015
The friend that "poison" me with this bike, we had planned for my first cross country ride.
After few consideration and research (yeah rite, just googled), we had decided the route will be;
Durian Burung Border --> Hat Yai --> Songkhla --> Pattani --> Yala --> Betong --> Pengkalan Hulu
Why Durian Burung border? Well it just because we never been there, or cross country using that border, why not....
For those who plan to travel to Thailand, do consider of this border as the traffic here is very smooth...

Of course, the overnite at Hatyai nothing much to further elaborate as no photo was taken as well.

The next morning we depart our journey to Songkhla, had a good thai seafood lunch, and continue our journey toward last destination, Betong.
During the planning stage, alot of friends already asking me, why I insist to choose the route passby Pattani and Yala, as there are dangerous town to passby, don't ask me why are dangerous, google yourself.
Of course, during the planning stage, nothing much to fear off, will further elaborate later.

Passing by Pattani, spotted a nice beach along side the road, stopped by to have short break.

I would say this beach is very nice, and the best part of it is less crowd.
Only spotted few local thais here, no much of foreign tourists.

Why this route, try to open Google Maps, search Yala, and choose to see the direction, to Betong.

But if you ask me whether to choose this route again, NO THANKS.
During passing by Yala, you can see every single little village, there is army post, and from time to time, you can see army tanker on the road, scary enough, as bullets are blind.

Anyhow, too bad for me as it was heavy rain during the above route, and as beginner, i'd suffer enough to reach the final destination.

1st Solo Ride

8th March 2015
After festive celebration of CNY, in order to familiar myself with this bike, had decided to go for free and easy day ride.
Decided to further north into Perlis, without any firm destination, I started my first solo ride. Well, not much of photo taken, this will be just short record.
Arrived at the Perlis state, and while wondering where's next destination, a signboard with "Wang Kelian" attracted me, as never been to this place....

Very nice scenery when passing by those rubber estate, and no photo taken :(
For a beginner, it was very challenging to climb up the hill road before reaching the border.

While on the way back, stopped by Gua Kelam and went to Kaki Bukit for the famous pork steambun.

The Begin

It's been almost 1 year and 2 months since last I got this bike.
Well, it all started with not much of rider passion, more toward cost saving to travel to work.
Imagine travelling to work with car, it cost me every month almost RM700 for petrol, and RM250 for highway tols.

Been looking around for suitable bike to purchase, and my friend aka ex-colleague+biker introduce kawasaki versys to me, and during that time, he had info of friend of his friend trying to let go his bike.
After few consideration, walla, i started my biker life....
